Fine Art Dog Photographer

Hey, I'm Thomas

My connection with animals started long before photography. I studied ecology and wildlife, and in my early twenties I spent three years living and working at a wildlife rehabilitation centre in Ecuador. Living so closely with wild animals taught me to slow down, observe behaviour and appreciate animals for who they are.

Photography started as a hobby for me, mainly through wildlife. I still photograph wildlife whenever I can, usually while hiking and exploring the outdoors. Being outside has always been where I feel most at home.

When I came back from Ecuador, a friend asked me to take some photos of their dog (see photo below). At the time, I was simply doing it as a favour. The following day, their dog was being put to sleep, and they wanted some photographs to remember him by.

That experience stuck with me.

I’ve had dogs in my own life too. One of them was Boris. Looking back, I wish I had taken more meaningful photographs of him, not just quick snapshots, but images that really captured his character.

It’s something you don’t always think about until it’s too late.

That experience, along with my love of wildlife and the outdoors, eventually led me towards photographing dogs. I realised I could bring the same calm, patient approach I use with wildlife into photographing dogs.

Outdoor dog photography brings together everything I love, animals, nature and storytelling.

I want your dog to be comfortable and simply be themselves, whether we’re exploring a forest, running through open grassland or walking along the coast.

These sessions aren’t about perfect poses or making your dog do something unnatural.

They’re about capturing the personality, connection and little moments that make your dog who they are, photographs you’ll want to hold onto for years to come.
